Narrative Mentoring, Story-Shaping & Creative Business Support

Using narrative practice techniques, depth-informed insights, and hard-won wisdom from my own crashlandings and business bingles, I help people navigate life’s toughest transitions, turning unplanned crises into wayfinding adventures. Whether you’re juggling a mid-chapter crisis, a professional pivot, an unexpected plot twist that feels like it’s the last thing you needed, or simply feel stuck in the achey loneliness of not knowing which way to go, we’ll work together to untangle stuck stories, explore options, and help you find your way onto a pathway that feels like it was made for you.

While I could talk about my work using words like narrative coaching, depth-informed mentoring, story development, and creative business consulting, it is so far from your typical creative coaching, mentoring, or business strategy that it feels hard to use the same language. Instead, it feels more like wilderness wayfinding, weaving together proven techniques like narrative therapy, trauma-informed facilitation, and the GROW coaching model with more than a decade of creative business and writing experience to help you clear tangled tales, calibrate your inner compass, and find your way into a story that suits you, rather than one you have to squeeze yourself into.

I like to say that what I offer is something strong, deep, and grounded – a bridge between your stories, your hard-earned skills and experience, and your secret dreams. Part wilderness guide, part narrative therapist, part creative mentor, part intuitive strategist, and part trail angel (IYKYK), I’m here to walk by your side as you navigate the stuck seasons of life so you can stop wondering “Is this it?’, and get back on track to writing the story and living the life – and legacy – you secretly dream of.

If you want to find out more, I offer free 15-20 minute discovery calls. Rather than being a full-on wilderness expedition, these are more like a check-your-kit wander around the block, where we can get to know each other a little, talk about what you’re hoping to get from this quest, and see if we’re a good fit for each other.

To apply, just complete the form below. The more detail you can give me, the better we can hone in our focus on the call and make the most of our time together.

My 1:1 expeditions are a place for you to be your whole self and to own your whole story. Whether we unpack things in a one-off call or a longer series, this is the place for you to speak your stories aloud and map out the path to wherever you want to be – whatever that looks like to you.

What I do (and don’t do)

  • I don’t give you a rigid framework or force you to push through
  • I don’t pretend to have all the answers or a one-stop formula that’ll change your life
  • I don’t treat your story, life, or business as if it’s a problem that just needs to be solved

Instead, I offer…

  • Narrative therapy-informed questioning and curiosity-led conversation
  • A container for soundboarding and exploration as you navigate change and transformation
  • Deep listening, honest reflection, new perspectives, and connecting-the-dots insights
  • A place to grieve the loss of old identities while reimagining and reclaiming new ones
  • A way to slow down, take stock, and reflect on all the hard-won wisdom & insights from your story so far
  • Strong accountability, insightful tools, and trail maps to help make sense of your inner and outer worlds
  • A place to soundboard strategy, talk through ideas, map out future plans, explore ecosystems, dream big, and then zoom in and figure out the next best step that works for you and the life you’re already living
  • A judgement-free space where there are absolutely no stupid questions or statements
  • Space to shape storylines and plan content-stellations, including identifying the narrative through-lines that weave your life, chapters, newsletters, or business ecosystems together

This is for you if…

  • You feel like you’re in a ‘dark night of the soul’ and want a guide who isn’t afraid of the dark
  • You’re fed up with feeling stuck, lost, and like you’re not living the story you thought/hoped you would be
  • You feel like you’re stuck in analysis paralysis and option overwhelm, and held back by the sheer number of directions you could take
  • You feel like everyone apart from you has it figured out and you’re scared you’re going to get found to be a fraud or imposter
  • You’re tired, feel burned out, and have found yourself questioning your direction and unable to make even basic decisions
  • You’re navigating challenging chapters, like grief, loss, caregiving, professional pivots, identity shifts, physical moves, or big decisions
  • You’re craving support from someone who listens deeply and works with you to help you tap into the skills, strengths, and wisdom you already have, and use that to help you find your way, instead of making you feel like there’s something missing and you need to do more/add more/be more
  • You’ve outgrown or feel tired of all formal coaching frameworks, and want something more grounded, exploratory, and customised from someone who can see you exactly as you are, not as a problem to be solved

Some of the stories we could explore together

  • Reclaiming and rewriting your story, your voice & your life in a way that feels true to you
  • Navigating transitions – these could be personal, professional, or environmental
  • Learning to trust your own intuition, creativity, timing, process, and voice
  • Feeling stuck at a crossroads and having no idea where to go next or what to do with your life
  • Naming and working with what’s blocking you – e.g. perfectionism, fear, or overwhelm
  • Using curiosity to process grief, illness, or periods of intense transformation and upheaval
  • Getting back into flow and rediscovering yourself again after burnout, grief, or emotional exhaustion
  • Systems of structure and accountability for personal or professional projects – like businesses, books, or even a run-off-into-the-wilderness travel dream
  • Mapping out your next chapter and creating an actionable plan so you can move on from analysis paralysis or the fear of the blank page and find your own way forward

“I explored working with Cassie when I was feeling blocked around my writing and how to communicate my offerings for my business. I admired and resonated with Cassie’s style of writing, and she has truly been alongside me on this journey of finding my voice and understanding my strengths.

The sessions are whatever you need them to be – a sounding board, an exploration, or a guiding hand. The letters she sends after calls are a wonderful reminder of our conversation, sprinkled with further insights that resonate deeply on an emotional level. The WhatsApp support has also been an unexpected bonus to talk ideas out loud.

After many years of exploring this work with PR advisors, marketers, and social media specialists, no one else has really understood my heart-led values like Cassie. It feels so crucial to feel truly seen and understood.”

The Quick Check-in

The “Where the f am I going?!” call

An hour-long circuit-breaking call for those who feel like they’re spinning in circles, can’t seem to figure out where to go next, and want the chat without the commitment

This hour-long call is designed to be a circuit-breaker for those who feel stuck, lost, confused, like they’re going around in circles (with life, books, or business), have no idea where to go next, and just want to talk it all through with someone who (mostly) “gets it”.

Through an optional pre-call questionnaire – designed to help shift the overwhelm and help us get the most out of our time together – and a one-hour call, we’ll start to explore the story of you, try to hone in on one of the underlying problems, and gently try to find a way to get you back onto your path – or at least moving towards it.

Includes:
  • 1 hour one-off call
  • Optional pre-session narrative questionnaire
  • Option to add on a week of follow-up support for $50 AUD
Investment: $220 AUD
Upgrade to a 2-hour call with a week of follow-up support for $400 AUD

Get Back on the Trail

The six-week shift

A deeper dive helping hand for when you’re feeling lost, blocked, and like you could do with some steady support to get you out of a rut and back moving in the direction you want to be going.

This deeper-dive experience starts with a narrative-informed questionnaire to help you get clear on where you are, where you want to be, and what you want to focus our time together working on. We’ll then unpack this more in three 2-hour calls, where we can split our time between exploring the problem, soundboarding options, and mapping out your next steps.

Following the calls, I’ll send out follow-up notes talking about what we covered, and also offer the option to send personalised letters, mapping the story of your skills and knowledges. The package also includes six weeks of follow-up support and accountability to help you step into this new vision.

Includes:
  • Pre-session deep dive questionnaire
  • 3x 2-hour calls with follow-up notes
  • A customised end-of-the-journey letter
  • Six weeks of “putting it into action” support
Spring Special: $1250 AUD (Usually $1500 AUD)
Payment plans & local currency payment options available

The Wayfinding Journey

The “The time is now” expedition

A 3-month transformative journey designed for people who feel lost, stuck between where they are and where they want to be, and are finally ready to step into living – or writing – a new story

This re-orienting expedition has been especially designed to meet you in those moments when you’re lost in the messy middle, struggling with feeling like you’re carrying the weight of the world, and know that this isn’t how your story is meant to end – or even begin – but don’t even know which way is up or where to go.

Over 90 days, we’ll walk side-by-side through a structured three-phase journey designed to help you untangle old stories, expand your creative horizons, write your book, and/or find your way back to a life of genuine adventure, authenticity, and aliveness:

Phase One: Planning, Packing, and Preparations

This stage is all about plotting your journey, while planning, packing, and preparing for what’s in store. We’ll start to map your stories, explore the landscape of your personal or professional life and business ecosystem, and discover all the things that have led you to go on this adventure, uncovering all the gifts, wisdom, and knowledge you’ve learned along the way, while gently letting go of the tall tales you’ve outgrown.

Phase Two: Re-Calibrating your Compass

Who do you wish you could be when no one was looking, watching, or expecting anything of you? Where do you wish your business could be if you weren’t worried about where your next paycheck is coming from, what people will think, or what they’ll pay for? This phase is all about finding our bearings, figuring out who we are, where we want to go, and why we want it, while also aligning our vision and values with the version of ourselves we wish we could be, rather than the one life seems to have shaped us into.

Phase Three: Carving your own Path

We’ll take everything you’ve learned and use it as a tool to help you carve, create, and curate your next best path forward, supporting you to move on from feeling like you’re stuck at a crossroads with no idea where to go, to standing on solid ground with a clear path and direction for your life, your book, business ecosystem, and/or your creative vision.

Includes:
  • Pre-session deep-dive questionnaire
  • A two-hour “Story of you” kick-off call
  • 5x fortnightly 1:1 calls with follow-up notes
  • Dedicated between-session support via text/voice notes
  • Personalised resources and maps designed for your unique landscape
  • An end-of-the-journey letter
Spring Special: $2500 AUD (Usually $3000 AUD)
Payment plans & local currency payment options available

The Choose-Your-Own-Adventure

A tailor-made approach for rebels, renegades, and those who prefer to do things their own way.

This is for those times when the out-of-the-box things just don’t feel like they’d be a good fit – and for those people who know what they want and aren’t afraid to ask for it. It’s for folks who see the value in what I can do, but want to tailor it to suit them and their needs – like skipping the calls and going straight to the email and voice note support.

Previous adventures include:
  • A 12-week “dream-to-book-proposal” container with weekly calls, editing, feedback, and pitching support.
  • A month-long zine co-creation with editing and email & voice note support and soundboarding.
  • A full business 360 pivot with fortnightly deep dive calls, writing support, and copyediting.
Investment: Custom Pricing

“Cassie’s mentorship has been integral to my growth, both on an individual and professional level. She is an excellent listener with a keen ability to see your highest potential and help nurture your progress in a constructive and effective way.

The tools and exercises that Cassie uses to support this process yield so much insight – and her perspective alone is worth its weight in gold given the storied life she’s led. I don’t hesitate to contact Cassie for guidance on any professional or personal issue I’m facing, and I’d recommend the same to anyone!”

I gained so much clarity and by the end of our call I was more than ready to tackle some of the actions we discussed. My workload suddenly feels lighter because I’m less overwhelmed and have a clear view of my priorities. Sometimes, we just need that sounding board to help us move from A to B, and break what feels like a “big thing” down into smaller, more manageable chunks.

I also loved the follow-up email you shared after our mentoring session and can’t wait to tune into the Kickstarter resources over the coming days.”

Cassie helped me recognise where my work overwhelm was stemming from, while sharing invaluable tips and business-focused emotional support that I really needed at the time. I came away from the call feeling lighter (after realising I was putting unnecessary deadlines and pressure on myself), proud of what I had achieved that year, and clear-minded about what I wanted out of 2024.

Do you offer get-to-know-each-other calls?

Yes, I offer free discovery calls. To book one, simply fill out this form and I’ll be in touch. You can also reach out directly if you have any questions first, too.

Do you work with international clients?

Yes, I work with clients all over the world. While the time zones can make things a bit tricky, we always find a way to make calls work. I also find the time difference can work to our advantage with things like follow-up support, editing, and feedback, as it can mean we can get 24 hours out of a day together, rather than you having to wait 2-3 business days for a response!

Where possible, I will also offer the option to invoice in your local currency using Wise Business to save on international transaction and exchange rate fees.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, for the longer 3-month journeys, flexible payment plans are available. We can chat about what works best during our discovery call.

I’m a freelancer, sole trader, or business owner. Can I claim our work as a business expense or tax deduction?

While the exact specifics of whether our sessions count as a business expense or tax deduction depend on you, your industry, jurisdiction, and accountant, I’m happy to provide a detailed invoice for tax purposes if required.

Why do you offer 2-hour calls?

While many mentors and coaches tend to lean more towards 45-60 minute calls, I’ve found that many of my clients end up getting more done in one 2-hour call than a month of hour-long ones. I liken the first hour to “skimming the surface”, where we talk about the more surface-level struggles and things we’d like help with. The second hour is where we get to dive in deeper and start to map out what is really going on – which is where my narrative therapy training comes into play, too.

When we take the time to properly map out a problem – and explore all the things going on around it – we usually discover new landmarks and unexpected insights. Rather than spending an hour panning for gold only to have to put a pin in it until the next call (when we’ll also want to spend time catching up again, too), I find two hours gives us more space to explore the new terrain, map out and make sense of what we’ve found, and then turn it into something tangible that you can actually carry away with you.

I’m just starting out and don’t really have a “proper” business yet – or I’m not even interested in building a business at all. Is this still for me?

Absolutely. In fact, the very beginning of a journey is one of the best times to look at the stories you’re carrying and all the skills, wisdom, and experience you’ve already amassed. Whether you’re not at all interested in creating a business or your dream business is currently just an amalgamation of hastily-written notes in your phone (we’ve all been there!), the early stages of a creative vision are one of my favourites. Together, we can map out where you are, where you want to be – however and whatever that looks for you – and find a path that works for you – and feels good, too.

What’s the difference between this and traditional business coaching or strategy?

A lot of traditional business coaching follows a similar strategy, weaving together motivational speeches like, “If you’re not uncomfortable and stretching yourself, then you’re doing it wrong” with a 10-step formula like this:

1. Pick your niche
2. Define the problem you solve
3. Design the transformation and the promise
4. Choose the best delivery format: e.g., group programme, 1:1, self-paced course, membership, mastermind
5. Create an ideal customer profile/avatar, including which shops they go to and what music they listen to
6. Come up with a marketing strategy to get it right in front of their eyeballs
7. Sell it before you build it, finding ways to overcome objections, add scarcity, pressure, and urgency tactics
8. Run a beta round, making it up as you go
9. Tweak it to make it better, up the price, make lead magnets and a funnel, run ads, tell everyone in your network about it
10. Rinse and repeat

And, while I know all about it (and have invested tens of thousands of dollars in these kinds of trainings), I’ve also learned that they don’t work for everyone. Especially me. And if you’re here, I have a feeling they might not work for you, either. That it all feels a bit too “salesy” and icky and weird, and that it only scrapes the surface of what is actually possible.

Instead, I’ve learned that the best business – and life – support comes from the inside out. It’s hard to stretch yourself into another story when you haven’t properly finished writing the last one. My work is all about looking inwards, working with your stories to figure out what’s going on, what you already have, what you might be missing, and what your options are. While we can absolutely soundboard tangible strategy, map out content ecosystems, and look at practical plans, the onus is on finding your own way through it, not me telling you what to do and watching you sink or swim.

My life/creativity/business feels incredibly messy right now. Do I need to untangle things a bit before we started working together?

Absolutely not! In fact, I’d encourage you not to wait until you have it all figured out to reach out. Having spent way too long sitting in the weeds myself, unsure of where to look for help or where to even go next, my favourite place to meet people is right in the thick of it. Our work together is always going to be perfectly imperfect, where your humanness is actively encouraged, and seen as your superpower, rather than something to be suppressed. You don’t need to “fix” anything, be anything, or do anything before our session. Together, we’ll find a way through it that works for you – a problem shared is a problem solved, after all.

I also run pop-up group mentoring sessions via my creative membership, The Lemonade Factory
